This Marine Notice provides a consolidated reference for the statutory certificates that Novaveritas Maritime Division (NVMD) is authorized to issue or endorse on behalf of flag state maritime administrations, including the applicable conventions, survey types, and validity periods.

2 Principles Governing Issuance

4 Interim Certificates

Interim certificates may be issued in certain circumstances (new vessels, vessels transferred to a new flag, company restructuring). Interim certificates have shorter validity and must be replaced by full certificates following the initial survey. NVMD issues interim certificates in accordance with the requirements of the applicable convention and the flag administration's procedures.

5 Certificate Custody & Display

All statutory certificates must be kept on board the vessel and be available for inspection by port state control officers and other authorized persons at any time. Certificates must be displayed in a prominent location where required by the applicable convention. The master is responsible for the safekeeping and renewal of all certificates.
